Gifted - Rachel Bailey

Hello My Name Is...

Rachel Bailey

I am excited to be here! This is my first year teaching students in the Oak Grove School District. I have 17 years of experience teaching gifted and talented students at both the middle and elementary school levels. Previous districts include Raytown, Shawnee Mission, Ft. Leavenworth and a small special education cooperative in Kansas.

My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Baker University. I also have a Master of Science in Educational Psychology and Research from the University of Kansas. Finally, I have a Master of Library and Information Science degree from San Jose State University.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband is in cybersecurity sales. My son is a sophomore at Creighton University and my daughter is a seventh grader at Brittany Hill Middle School in Blue Springs. We also have an obnoxious cat that keeps us busy!

Some of my hobbies include travel, reading, hiking, and watching KU basketball. Rock Chalk!

Since I work part time, I have an abbreviated schedule. I serve students at both the elementary and middle schools. The best time to reach me is between 10:30 to 11:00 before I begin teaching for the day.
